Sewed up some cool rudder covers

Had time on my hands and some fabric and some old covers. I think they just look cool more than anything else.

Rudders back on

Some home-made parts in there. Pins were easy enough to make as were the cup shaped bearings.
Now that I see the rudders against the white hulls, they're a bit yellow. I'll paint them some cool color next.

I like safety wire on important shackles, does anyone else do this? I guess it comes from my aviation safety side.

Centerboard handles

Simple enough to drill out a couple wire handles and slip the 3/16 rope thru. Look finished now. (dog paw prints)

Some new rigging

Here is the line I bought from a rope company. Red = HOT LINE (only line you need to hold on a 17!). New England Rope Sta-Set. Not bad but a bit stiff and hard for my taste. Oh well the price was right. It's about 10mm. The other stuff was what was on there. Like 1/2" crud that barely fit thru the pullys. Maybe I'll use it for righting line but probably not.

X$^&*^)(*&$#+_*()(&$^) Got them out

Took 3 days and a couple special tool designs but got out those nasty end caps. They were too tight a fit in the first place combined with a rivet a little too weak. Cleaned them off, sanded them down a bit and re-riveted. Below is the final special tool designed to pull off the rest of the rivet, then fit into a rivet hole then pull out. Not so simple but it finally worked. My tendonitis is back thanks to that (and some other misc movements).
